Morning Sickness - any suggestions?

So, here's a blog post that needs your contributions! A reader asked for suggestions on dealing with fairly severe morning sickness, and says she has tried all sorts of home remedies like ginger, herbal teas, etc. I get fairly bad morning sickness with my pregnancies, and would love some tips myself. I haven't found anything that is amazingly helpful, but the best remedies I've experienced are finding foods that help, though it has varied from pregnancy to pregnancy. Some of my personal favorites have been yogurt and cheese. The most helpful things though have been taking a B-complex vitamin and using pressure point wristbands for motion sickness. But please post your best suggestions under the comments!

Thanks Holly. I started taking the B-Complex yesterday, so I'm praying it will work for me like it did for you! I'm looking forward to the suggestions your readers may have.

I know this isnt the most natural method but my doctor prescribed a medication that takes away morning sickness feelings - I never really needed to use it. So that is out there if you need to work and your morning sickness is just too bad. But hopefully, things will get better soon!

Ginger.. keeping it in the cheek or even drinking ginger ale (make sure it HAS ginger in it, not the stuff you find at the gas station)

Also spearmint *chewing mint leaves* and even gum.

The best thing to do is to make sure you don't get hungry and don't get thirsty. Dehydration is a morning sickness killer, as well as hunger. If that means you need to eat snacks during the day, do it! Just make sure they are healthy, like -- yogurt and cheese :)

Hopefully that should help.

Things I found useful:

Taking my prenatal vitamins before I would wake up in the morning, as they made me sick (like if I used the restroom at 4-6am, I would take one then).

Iced milk-coffee with a shot of peppermint in it also makes me feel better. Keeping liquid in me has been hard in the mornings. I have been a fish drowning in the water I drink until pregnancy when water makes me nauseas. I try to keep other drinks that aren't too unhealthy around, so at least I am getting liquid in me.

Each person has their own set of foods, like for me it has been goldfish crackers and lightly sweetened breads (buns, toast+honey, whole-wheat frozen waffels, oatmeal cookies).

The preggie pops have not worked (from motherhood maternity), the ingredients are basically flavoring and sugar, so thats not much of a surprise. But something that also helps me is mint lip gloss/chapstick, as i can faintly smell it/taste it.
